The Law Enforcement Academy Preparatory Success Skills (LEAPSS) is preparation course designed for the Basic, Modular and Correctional Deputy Academies. LEAPSS is offered in a learning community comprised of two courses: Administration of Justice-B2A (Law Enforcement Pre-Academy) and Guidance-48A (College Success Strategies-Study Skills).The ADJ-B2A component focuses on Law Enforcement topics such as Report Writing, Cultural Diversity, Leadership, Professionalism & Ethics, Criminal Justice System, and an overview of the background investigation process. The GUI-48A component assists students in obtaining study skills necessary to reach educational and career goals; topics include time management, test taking and study techniques.
The course is only offered every Spring and Fall semesters at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center.
In order to participate in LEAPSS, you need to be concurrently enrolled in both courses:
Guidance-48A Mondays- 5:00PM-5:50PM (1unit)
Adminstration of Justice-B2A Mondays- 6:00-9:10PM (3units)
  1. Apply to Moreno Valley College for the appropriate semester
  2. Complete Online Orientation, Assessment, and First Semester Ed Plan (First-time college students only)
  3. Register for classes on or after your registration date
